WATER IS LIFE! 10 friends and myself went on the second leg of a walking hike on the wild coast of South Africa from Port St Johns to Coffee Bay in 1997. We walked an average of 17km's a day over hills, mountains, crosssing rivers (10 in total) and mangrove swamps, traversing into and intertwining with Pondo villagers and community until reaching our destination. No water! Villagers told us the women and children had to walk an average of 10-20 km's every day to rivers to collect water, standing the chance of being raped and quite frankly beaten by the elements while carrying gallons of water loads in buckets on their heads, everyday. We went on the same trail in 1998 and started finding pumps as near as 20m from villages and in 2001 on our 3rd trip into that area found many more water holes and pumps helping the beautiful communities of the Eastern Cape, soooo when I see what Charity Water is doing, and I don't know who was resposible for those holes and pumps we progressively saw in those areas but can honestly say what a difference they made to the people and their thirsty visitors, all I can say is I'M A BELIEVER and love your work!

I love this. Thank you for the pictures, it makes it all even clearer about what work is done when the finances are met for these projects. Nicely done!
